#random #garganofashionweek  - what to see - cosa vedere

Info: www.masseriagiordano.com

Here some random shots from my trip in Puglia ad ischitella, with some suggestions about what to see in Gargano. I could not to take photos of everything, but i promise to do it next time ;)

SEA and NATURE : It’s one of the few place in the world where we can se the sun that rises and go beyond the horizon in the sea. You just have to choose the beach, because there are a lot all around the roads, some of theme are beyond beautiful pine groves. Around Ischitella there are also many olive tree groves and the beautiful Varano lake separed from  the sea by a long isthmus.

CULTURE: Ischitella origins are very ancient, first news of it come from 970 after Christ. The most important ancient things to see in Ischitella are: the Castel, Sant’Eustachio Church, Palazzo de Cata, Ex San Francesco Convent, SS Annunziata Church, Archeological Museum, Etruschi Cavern. I like very much the ancient churches and palaces, the main square and the typical straight passages to climb and descend. Everything is very poetical with the quintessential beauty of these sea areas. There is something in Ischitella who remind my Lisbon views. I suggest to see in the centre of Ischitella, a mysterious three who seems come from an ancient painting or a gothic fairy tale. There are no leaves, nothing on it, the three just stays static as a statue. The legend tells that what we see outside are the roots. Visit also the churches that represent rooted christian tradition in Southern Italy.  Info : www.comune.ischitella.fg.it

FOOD: Puglia  is famous for the good and abundant dishes and i love its recipes, personally i’ve tried the restaurant of “Bed & Breakfast Belvedere”, a very easy good restaurant/pizzeria, where to eat the tradition recipes, very rich in vegetable, pasta and fish. I suggest to try pasta with chickpeas or chicory, the famous  “Paranza”, “ focaccina”, “taralli” made with wine, water and wheat. Info : www.ctbelvedere.it

WHERE TO SLEEP: in Puglia there are the typical “ masserie”, tradizional buildings to live the regional atmosphere of the countryside and of the sea, with a lot of plants, animals all arounds and an elegant simplicity. My stay at Masseria Giordano made me very happy.  Info: www.masseriagiordano.com
